In the textile art of Central Asia we encounter lived history in form and colour, in an unending variety and at the highest levels of skill. The aim of the Symposium on the Textile Art of Central Asia is to exhibit and to make real the beauty of artistic works and the fascination which they exude. It is to be seen as a forum for exchange in the fields of aesthetics, science, ethnology and history, and aims to bring together the experience of collectors, museum employees, interested amateurs and experts in a constructive manner.
